Privacy foundation · limited account beta

Privacy before profiles.

Foundation preview · Updated August 16, 2026

Information used for an account

A limited account beta may collect your account role, name, email or phone, preferred language, onboarding status, sign-in source, consent choices, and account activity timestamps. Student planning information is collected only when a user enters it into a protected workspace.

Google, Facebook, Discord, and TikTok

If you choose social sign-in, the provider may share an account identifier, display name, avatar, and email when available and authorized. CollegeAppWiser does not request or copy contact lists, friends, followers, posts, videos, servers, or direct messages for authentication. Provider passwords and OAuth tokens are not copied into the CollegeAppWiser CRM.

Product principles

  • Collect only information needed for college planning.
  • Keep student documents private and access-controlled.
  • Require verified links before parents or counselors can access a student workspace.
  • Keep optional marketing off unless the user affirmatively selects it.
  • Provide a documented process for data access, correction, export, and deletion.

Customer relationship management

CollegeAppWiser may use HubSpot as a customer relationship management service provider. A verified email, verified phone when available, name, account role, preferred language, sign-in method labels, onboarding status, marketing consent choice, and social-provider account identifier, display name, verified email, avatar URL, and last sign-in time may be sent to HubSpot for account support and authorized follow-up. Passwords, OAuth access or refresh tokens, contact lists, friends, followers, posts, GPA, test scores, essays, activities, school lists, budgets, documents, messages, and ChanceLab analysis are not sent to HubSpot. A marketing choice is recorded but does not itself enroll a person in a marketing campaign.

Age foundation

Direct account creation is limited to people age 13 or older. A parent or guardian should use the parent account path for a younger student. CollegeAppWiser will not open direct accounts for children under 13 until a verified parental-consent workflow is designed and reviewed.

This is an implementation-stage privacy foundation, not a substitute for legal review. A complete notice naming the operator, contact method, subprocessors, retention/deletion periods, regional rights, and applicable family-consent requirements must be reviewed and published before public account collection.
